I think that our voting process needs to be changed. I would like to consider that each landowner (which includes spouse) gets one vote. I think that a landowner who might own several properties should not get more than one vote. Maybe, this is not the case. Can someone tell me if a landowner who owns multiple properties gets multiple votes?
Also, I am not fond of proxy votes. I believe that we need to honor the voting system. My sense is that landowners who let other landowners vote on their behalf, is a misuse of voter privileges. If a landowner is unaware of who or what they are voting for then they can abstain from voting.
I would like to see future board candidates include what they think the direction of board function might be. What are the reasons they want to serve the community. What changes they think might benefit the membership. How will they communicate better with the membership. And address how they might handle current issues. This might assist landowners in the voting process.

As an ex-president of the GLA it is shocking that you James Koslick are asking this question "Can someone tell me if a landowner who owns multiple properties gets multiple votes?" Why do you not know this answer? It is appalling that many past and present Board members know almost nothing about GLA Covenants and Bylaws, including you James.
To answer you question, Covenant 3.14 says every membership interest (every property) gets one vote. Thus owning 3 properties allows you 3 votes. You could save everyone a lot of time by not posting until you have read and understood the governing docs. That way we can read educated posts, instead of what so far is not.

Thanks for the covenant reference. What do you think about our voting procedures? Let's say someone ends up buying 10 properties you think getting ten votes is fair or does that change the balance? And how about the proxy issue...you think that it is fair to every other voter that one voter can possibly gather 3 or 4 proxy votes from other landowners who might say "whoever or whatever you vote for, cast my vote as the same", you think that's fair?
I think the late great Yogi Berra said "it's appalling to not ask a question if you don't know the answer"
